A Little Christmas Tree That Took Me on a Journey
A Little Christmas Tree That Took Me on a Journey
Hey my beautiful rock family… I’ve missed you like crazy.
I sat down to paint the other night and pressed record before I even knew what was going to happen. All I had was a blank framed circle and a whisper that said “night sky.” So I just started sponging blues and whites and… honestly? It looked like a hot mess for the longest time. I kept telling you (and myself) “trust the process” while secretly wondering if I’d finally lost the plot.
There were blurry cabins that looked like alien eyes, aurora streaks that felt more like mistakes, and a Christmas tree that refused to behave. I painted a star. Hated it. Scraped it off. Painted another. Hated it more. Scraped again. (If you watch the video you’ll hear me actually laugh at how bad the second one was.)
And then something shifted. The cabins turned into cozy little lights in the distance. The “mess” became a quiet northern night with soft snow and glowing windows. The tree finally got its chrome ornaments and a tiny star that didn’t make me cringe. When I poured the resin and watched that stone go full marble… I actually teared up a little. It felt like the rock was saying, “See? You just had to keep going.” This one taught me (again) that the ugly stage is real, the mistakes are loud, but the magic only shows up if you stay at the table. So if you’re watching the video and thinking “I could never do that”… yes, you absolutely can. I’m living proof that a single mom painting between night shifts and mom duties can turn a gray rock into a tiny Christmas nightscape — one stubborn layer at a time. Grab your paints and come mess up a rock with me: 🎄
And if this little tree made you smile, hit that like button, drop a “trust the process” in the comments, or just share it with someone who needs a reminder to keep going.I love you guys more than glitter (and that’s saying something). See you under the next set of northern lights. All my sparkles, Rachel Rachel’s Rocks Canada ❄️✨🖌️

Rachel is back with a magical winter bonsai rock that captures the ethereal beauty of the Aurora Borealis — complete with a snow-dusted bonsai tree, shimmering sky, and a gold frame that makes it look like a tiny portal to the Arctic. This isn’t just a rock. It’s a miniature winter wonderland sealed in glossy resin.
